What is a filter?
Filters are a dynamic group of retailers created from a set of criteria. The list of retailers in a filter updates automatically as retailers match (or stop matching) that criteria. Common filter criteria include Retailer Status (e.g., Engaged, Eligible), Facebook/social automation status, product line carried, language preference, and region.
What is a collection?
Collections are similar to filters, except they're static groupings of retailers. The list is fixed at creation, so changes in retailer data won't add or remove anyone from it. A common example is a Key/VIP Accounts collection.
Why are they important to use?
Filters and collections let you send hyper-targeted communications and campaigns to specific groups of retailers, which can help increase engagement. Use a filter when you want a list that stays current automatically - for example, a group based on region or product line that should update as new retailers are added or as their data changes. Use a collection when you want a fixed group that only changes when you manually add or remove retailers - for example, a curated VIP list.
