Meeting the content needs of your retailer network is no easy feat. Retailer content needs range from specific product imagery, colorways or SKUs, regional landscapes to match local topography, store types, and more. Brands that provide campaigns and content that align with their retailers’ businesses are more likely to see increased retailer mindshare and overall content engagement. Promoboxx makes it easy to organize your retailers’ content preferences and needs through the use of Custom Fields and Filters.
Learn how to segment campaign content with custom fields and target retailer communications using filters by following the tips below.
⭐ Promoboxx Tip: Think about your content mix. Since your retailers might not carry a particular product, it’s important to have a well-balanced mix of promotional, product, and inspirational content available at all times. Inspirational content encourages your brand’s personality to shine and makes your brand look more authentic to consumers.
Step 1: Start Segmenting Content with Custom Fields
Custom Fields are a great way to bring additional data into Promoboxx (e.g. product lines, sales reps, regions, inventory, etc) that you can use for targeting campaigns and content. Your Promoboxx team will help you create these fields during onboarding. Custom fields can be formatted as a text field, dropdown, checkbox, or radio button. You can specify whether custom fields are required or optional. As we create the fields in the background, they will then be presented to your retailers during their onboarding experience and can be updated in their retailer account information.

Step 2: Build Filters for Targeted Campaigns + Communications
Our next step is to build the filter of retailers to target. Filters are used to segment content and communications to your retailers in Promoboxx. Filters are a dynamic set of retailers. When you create/select a filter, it will match the criteria for that filter every time it loads. The set of retailers displayed by the filter can change each time you view the filter.
Example: Let's say you create a campaign featuring a specific product line (Hard Goods) that only certain retailers in your network carry. You can target this campaign to invite the retailers that have been identified to order inventory of this product (Hard Goods) by using the custom field data that has been collected and imported.
Step 3: Invite your Retailers using Filters
Email communication can be a powerful tool to reach your retailers, but it’s more effective when the campaign content is strategically targeted to the right audience and supported with a call to action. Ultimately, email personalization can result in more meaningful relationships with your retailers.
Select the specific filter of retailers that you wish to invite to the campaign (e.g. “Hard Goods” featured above). Select the Specific Retailers option and then search for the filter of retailers you wish to target. Select the filter to add the group to the communication you are about to build.
Continue through the invitation workflow by scheduling automated posts (optional), customizing the email invitation message and sending the campaign to your retailers!
